I am a Middle School Language Arts Educator with a strong background in student mentorship and family outreach and liaison. I have taught for 8 years in high school and middle school and plan to bring my skills as an educator to inspire students to explore and enhance their own creativity, interests and natural abilities in an online environment. I believe in the difference a teacher/tutor can make in the life of a student. I am passionate about connecting with and leading students of this pivotal age as they transition into young adulthood.

My experience as an educator has validated the importance of flexibility and kind guidance while maintaining consistency and high expectations. I believe that creating personal relationships with students as well as their families and other mentors is highly beneficial to educating the whole child. I offer my skills as a teacher to families who are in need of guidance for their student as we enter a school year like no other. I can help students navigate remote learning and manage all of their assignments and duties from home. I can also identify and address any specific gaps they may have in their reading and writing skills.

Writing Tutoring
I am available to help students at any step in the writing process. I can help students brainstorm and organize their ideas I can also support and instruct students while they synthesize a thesis statement and support their thesis with evidence from a text. I am experienced in guiding students in all steps of the writing process and helping them get their own ideas on the paper in an organized manner. I am fluent in the expectations of the 6 Traits of Writing and can help your student develope their skills in hte areas of Ideas, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency and Conventions.
Reading Tutoring
The ability to read fluently and with comprehension is one of the most important skills a student must acquire before they graduate high school. I have dedicated my life to helping young adults attain this skills so they can be successful. I can help students with oral reading fluency issues as well as gaps in comprehension. I will help your student set and achieve reading goals through a variety of tools.
Remote Learning Facilitation
Is your student struggling with remote learning and needs a little extra assistance? I have the experience and skills as an educator to help your student organize and complete their assignments on time and up to the expectations of their teacher. I know that I can help families have a more seamless and relaxed approach to remote learning. I can help students navigate Infinite Campus, Google Classroom and Schoology. I can help extend their thinking and depth of knowledge on most topics, especially Language Arts and Social Studies.
